Just before 5:30pm Central Time on January 7th, 2020, Iran launched multiple missiles at US bases and interests in Iran, including the Al Assad airbase. Just after 6:00 pm Central Time, Iranian state media reported a second wave of missiles was being launched. Unconfirmed reports this evening indicate that US fighter jets have taking off from bases in the UAE and Turkey.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff, Secretary of State, and Secretary of Defense have arrived at the white house. The Secretary of Defense was seen carrying a large briefcase of briefing materials. A large scale US response would be expected according to recent comments by President Trump.
